Parthasarathy
183 x 120 inches, Tempera
A scene from the ancient Hindu epic, Mahabharat, showing ‘Partha’ or Arjuna along with his ‘Sarathy’ or charioteer, Lord Krishna in the midst of the greatest war, Kurukshetra. When Arjuna refused to fight his cousins at war, it was Krishna who counseled Arjuna to carry out his duty as a warrior. The guidance Krishna provided in the form of a dialogue/narrative became the ‘Bhagvad Gita’ – the holy text of the Hindus.
